Geese Chasers Chopper Raises Over $9,000 for Make-A-Wish Foundation of NJ in its First Appearance

New custom-made motorcycle, built by TV stars, Vinnie and Cody, now available for charity events

September 14, 2009 (Mt. Laurel, NJ) – Geese Chasers LLC – the Mid- Atlantic region’s leading goose control company through the use of highly trained border collies – today announced its custom-built chopper, “Boomer-1” raised over $9,000 for Make-A-Wish Foundation® of New Jersey. The motorcycle, commissioned this spring by Geese Chasers, was built and delivered by V-Force Customs, run by former stars of “American Chopper,” Vinnie DiMartino and Cody Connelly.

The August 29, 2009 charity event was the first appearance of the highly detailed chrome, leather and brightly painted motorcycle. Named after Geese Chaser’s first “employee”, the border collie, Boomer, “Boomer-1” is now available for charity event appearances throughout the New Jersey, Delaware, Maryland and Virginia areas.

Effective, Human Goose Control
Geese Chasers LLC, of Mt. Laurel, NJ, is a company with a unique mission: to rid public and private areas of those nuisance birds, Canada Geese—and do so, humanely. Founded in 1999 by Bob Young and “Boomer”, a pure-bred border collie who passed away April 30, 2008, Geese Chasers uses these instinctive herding dogs to dispel Canada Goose in a controlled way, and convince the geese in a surprisingly short time to go somewhere else.

Now, ten years later, the company has achieved a high level of success, with golf courses, homeowners associations, municipal park systems, corporate parks and even private residences among its clientele—and Mr. Young is commemorating the event in a way as unique as his firm. He commissioned a custom-built chopper-style motorcycle to help raise money for charities while showcasing his unusual company.

“I turned to the best,” said Bob Young, president and CEO for Geese Chasers. “Vinnie DiMartino and Cody Connelly, formerly from the Discovery and TLC reality show, American Chopper. These two, along with Nub, the painter featured on the show, built a truly unique custom chopper. The excitement around the chopper, along with the robust participation of its fans on our website for the chopper, has done wonders for charity as clearly evidenced by our very first event. It’s a tremendous attraction and a great means of giving back to the community”. Geese Chasers, LLC operates in Southern and Central New Jersey, which is the middle of the birds’ Mid-Atlantic fly zone. “Our mild winters encourage Canada Geese to live here year-round,” said Mr. Young. “It’s estimated that their population increases approximately 15% a year.” The company has recently expanded operations to include Northern Virginia, Southern Maryland and the Washington DC areas. The firm is also offering franchises to cover other sections of the country.
